Humanities 1010: Introduction to Western Culture is a  survey of  the art, architecture, literature, music and philosophy that have contributed to the creation and expansion of Western culture.  Designed as a brief overview the course aims to introduce key concepts and ideas that will provide students a foundation for life long learning.   All cultures struggle with answers to life's mysteries and Prof. Nickerson uses these Terrible Questions as a framework for studying the humanities.  In addition, he uses outlines like those below to help students organize the vast amounts of material covered by this very broad topic.
