Department Request for Purchasing Library Materials
Each
department is allocated a budget for the purchase of library materials -
books, media, and journals. Each department has a person responsible
for authorizing and submitting requests. Authorized requests should be
submitted through the Department Request for Purchasing Library
Materials Form below. The budgeted money becomes available July 1st of
each year. Some criteria to consider when selecting materials are
support of the curriculum, author's and publisher's reputation,
timeliness, permanence, and whether materials will be used by students.
Requests
for journals must be submitted by November 1st of each year. These
subscriptions are permanently subtracted from the individual
department's budget. Contact the appropriate library liaison for more
information.
Departments are requested to submit sufficient
orders to commit their budgets by January 31st of each year. When the
budget is exhausted, any remaining requests on file will be returned to
the department, and may be resubmitted at the beginning of the next
fiscal year. Reports displaying budget balances for each department are
available monthly from October until January.

Only
